A Tampa homeowner reached out to us asking about potential hurricane mitigation for their home. Hurricanes are some of the most destructive storms we get in the United States and often preventive measures tend to be more cost-effective than repairs. We scheduled a hurricane mitigation inspection to gauge the roof’s current hurricane resistance.
The inspection uncovered a lot of areas for potential improvement; however, the most obvious was this home still had asphalt shingles. While asphalt shingles are suitable for 99% of homes in America they have a hard time standing up the high winds and heavy rains of hurricanes. Often entire sections of shingles will be blown off, allowing the rain to penetrate and damage the interior of homes. That is why Lifetime Quality recommended a full metal roof replacement to ensure the highest level of protection. Our team worked directly with the people at My Safe Florida Home to secure a grant to help the homeowner cover part of the replacement.

Once we were able to secure the grant for the homeowner our production team worked to put together a project scope. They worked directly with the homeowner and picked out a beautiful metal roof from Boss Metals in Panama City. Our installation crew began the process of removing the old roof and had the metal roof installed in time for hurricane season.
